The Esiteri Nursery (founded in 1995 and named after the project’s original benefactor) is an integral part of BRDC. Nearly 100 children aged 3-6 are supervised and taught by four teachers, giving a low teacher to children ratio when compared to surrounding nurseries. This ensures individual attention for each child. Several methods of teaching are employed, and the combination of learning by rote and learning through play allows development both mentally and socially. As a result Esiteri leavers have a reputation for already having a firm grasp of language and numbers with local schools, who look forward to receiving our pupils. Since its inception almost 700 children have passed through the nursery, and it remains an excellent centre for early learning. |
